Twitter Ranking Tools – How to Check your Twitter Rank with Twitterholic
By adminA couple of days ago, I mentioned the use of the “Twitter Grader” ranking tool. Today I am going to talk about another ranking tool, “Twitterholic“. While I reviewed this “Twitterholic” tool, I found it to be a very useful tool. Beforehand, I actually considered “Twitter Grader” to be the superior tool for ranking your Twitter Profile. Now I believe the combination of the use of both tools is the ideal situation. Here is why.
Whenever you visit “Twitterholic”, you will see a list of the “Top 100″ tweeters, based on 4 categories: followers, friends (those whom you follow), updates (total number of tweets), and Joined (how long ago you joined Twitter). With each of these categories you can also sort the “Top 100″ list by that category in descending order, most to least. Not only that, if you want you can click through to each block of 100 in the list, like “top 100″, “top 200″, etc. all the way up to the “top 1000″ tweeters. This page also displays your account name and display name as recorded on Twitter, in addition to your location and the URL of the website listed on your Twitter account.
This Twitter tool also does not require that you login to check your stats, as you only have to enter your “Twitter User Name” into the text box as shown in the image below.
Once you have entered your Twitter Account into the text box show above it will take you to the stats screen that is show below.
As you can see from the image above, and comparing it to my previous post about “Twitter Grader”, the stats are quite different. Twitterholic even provides a history of where the account has ranked. I do not know if one or the other is more accurate, but I would take a guess that the ranking on Twitter Grader is more accurate due to the age of the application. I believe Twitter Grader is newer so it has fresher rankings, while Twitterholic is older, but contains a lot what might now be abandoned accounts.
While this may make a little less accurate, it isn’t a major miscalcualtion, since most of your active users will be ranked at the top anyway, and it wouldn’t dramatically change your ranking if those accounts weren’t considered. I am sure some bright matmetician or statistician could come up with a good idea of what the margin of error are for the Twitterholic and Twitter Grader sites. I am not that person, but using a combination of both sites should provide you with a very good assessment of how well your account on Twitter ranks amongst the other Twitter accounts. If you would like to visit Twitterholic, you may do so by pointing your browser to http://www.twitterholic.com.
